Thanksgiving is just around the corner. Too often, though, Thanksgiving gets glossed over in the hustle and bustle and rush to Christmas. We sit down on the fourth Thursday of November, eat some turkey, mention a few blessings in our lives, watch some football, then move on to Christmas.
This year, though, I want to encourage you to spend the month of November focused on Thanksgiving. The past few years, this space has become a family Thanksgiving devotional in November, and I’m continuing that tradition this year. We’ll kick off our series on Monday, and it will run through the Friday after Thanksgiving. This year, we’ll be focusing on being thankful for the people in our lives. We’ll not only thank God for them, but we’ll find creative ways to thank those people, too.
I’m so excited about this series, and I hope you’ll join me. We have so much in our lives for which to be thankful, and Thanksgiving is a great time to point all of those things out to our kids. It’s a great time to teach our kids what thanksgiving is, why it’s important to both God and other people, and how to thank others.
We’ll have freebies and giveaways all month long. You won’t want to miss it, so take this opportunity to get Everyday Truth in your inbox every morning by entering your e-mail in that box up in the right-hand corner of this page that says “Subscribe by email” or come like the Everyday Truth Facebook page.
I’m excited about this new series, and I hope you’ll help me spread the word by sharing it with your friends.
